I keep saying, "I'll post when I'm more awake." I'm pretty sure that's never going to happen, so now seems like a good time.

So. Dance.

I skipped the Ranya Renee workshop. The moneys that had been budgeted for gas, parking, fud, shinies, and workshop got spent on car repairs, so I decided that being a fiscally responsible adult would be a good idea. I'm still not sure how much of the decision was this damn depression telling me I don't deserve fun, but it meant that I got to spend time with Mom and Emi and Clean All The Things.

Downwood and I still went to the show, which was complicated by the fact that all the parking on the isthmus was full and drunk undergrads were trying really hard to get run over. There was only one act in the show that made me say, "What were you THINKING?!" Most of the club performances were fine, the troupe performances were lovely, and all the soloists were really, really good. Ranya Renee's accordion taqsim was...woah. I want to dance like that when I grow up.

Also, Junior is just as familiar with music as his big sister was. If there's loud-ish music that he can hear and *I'm* not dancing, he starts tap dancing on my bladder and kidneys. If I'm dancing, he's totally chill. This was a little tiny bit distracting during the show. Just saying.

On a related note, we now have Family Drum Time in the evenings. Momma, Daddy, and Emi all practice drumming together. Emi alternates between dancing, drumming on her own drum, and drumming on our drums, but it's so darn adorable that I don't mind. She's scary smart and determined to grow up as fast as she possibly can.
