Three links and an invitation

I don't know if I can explain how in love with microscopy I am. One day, when I'm tired of being a Responsible Adult and escape back to the lab (ha!), I will look for some project that I can care about that will put me behind a microscope with brightly glowing things for many hours. I adore confocal fluorescent microscopy. I'd like to try electron microscopy, protein modeling, and maybe more bioinformatics, but really I'm all about the pretty pictures. Luckily, there are other people who think the same way.

Ahem. I followed a link today to another maker of very cute and kind of weird crocheted critters. Can I just say that her pattern for a crocheted squid made me squee and want to make a hundred of them in every color of the rainbow?
Invitation the Only
Seeing as how there's no dance class tomorrow night (boo spring break!), I will be hosting an impromptu Skirt Soiree at Pedro's West beginning at 7 tomorrow evening. They have half price margaritas and yummy flan. I will probably be dragging Downwood through Frugal Muse prior to this (need books. don't have enough of them), but if you beskirt yourself, you are welcome to share a meal with us. If you don't beskirt yourself, I reserve the right to tease you about it.
