Part 1 - Adventures in hair styling
Part 2 - A couple of food pictures.
I wore a very pretty belly dance ensemble to Faire last weekend. As part of this, I decided that I wanted to put my hair up like the tribal dancers do. Not only is it really cool-looking, I figured that having my hair up and out of the way would help keep me from going crazy at faire. My darling sister helped me twist, braid, and pin in the morning, and then I wandered around the faire, buying more things to put on my head. It was awesome!
Here it is when we got home. I switched to the old comfy shirt because a halter top is only comfortable for so long. I'm still wearing the skirt, though.

Here's from the side.

And the back. You actually can't quite see the mirrored dangly that's on the left side of the mass of hair. Notice the copy of The Watchmen comic on the couch. In the midst of all this Girly, I feel the need to gain back a little Geek Cred. Represent.

Here's what it looked like about halfway through pulling out the pins.

And here's the moment when I finally was able to rejoice at having located the final pin. You can see my little sister off to the side. She had a bunch of little braids across the front that she was regretting when trying to pull them all out.

This is everything that was on my head. I'm impressed. Are you impressed? My neck was not so impressed, but we worked things out later.

And then, after I was done finger-combing the braids and twists away, Downwood decided to take pictures of my in his plaid shirt. You can see the fabulous job I did on my eyeliner.

The last half inch or so of my hair is below the bottom of this picture. This is the most hair I've ever had at one time. I just wish this one did a better job of showing the color. Yes, I could fix it in GIMP, but I'm feeling lazy.

Now, switching gears, I have a couple of pics of the food from the baby shower. First, the entire spread.

In this picture: BBQ ribs (in CrockPot), buns, Chex mix, chips, taco dip, homemade ranch dressing, lettuce wedges for said dressing, garden herb dip, green chile roll-ups (thanks, Anne!), and jalepeno bacon thingies. Not pictured: cake (Craig's Cake Shop. Amazing. Seriously), the cooler full of juice in various forms (thanks, Bex!), and the veggie tray (thanks, Katy!).
Let's take a closer look at those jalepenos...

Oh, yum.

I should have made twice as many. When I take them to a potluck at work next week, I will. I got the recipe from The Pioneer Woman. These things are totally easy and TO DIE FOR! OMG! So good!
